Teaming Up to Save The Natural World

For close to 10 years, we, as best mates, have embarked on an annual 9-night trip to Kruger National Park, exploring every inch it has to offer. From morning walks to sunset drives, we’ve done it all, and each year we return, knowing there’s always something new to see.

A Vanishing Legacy

One unforgettable morning, during a drive from Biyamiti Camp, Kruger, we were on the lookout for a big cat as the sun began to rise. Armed with coffee and Ouma rusks, we turned a bend on a quiet dirt road and encountered a playful pack of Wild Dogs. Being the only car in sight, we had the sighting to ourselves. As we watched, there was sudden commotion within the pack. Two White Rhinos were approaching, seemingly uninterested in the dogs. We watched in awe as the rhinos got closer, changed their attitudes and bullied the dogs into the thicket before disappearing themselves.

Some of us, mostly Stuart, believe this was the moment our foundation was born. What we know for sure is that we love the wild and are committed to doing everything we can to protect these animals and their habitats. It’s just lekker.

That morning, as we witnessed the rare interaction between the Wild Dogs and White Rhinos, it dawned on us how fleeting such experiences might become. The thrill of encountering these majestic creatures in their natural habitat is something we cherish, yet it’s a privilege the younger generation might never know. With poaching and habitat loss on the rise, these sightings are becoming increasingly rare. Our vision is clear: to protect and preserve the wild spaces and the magnificent animals that call them home, ensuring that future generations can experience the wonder of these incredible moments.
